Tuesday, June 12, 2012

A Garfield man pleaded guilty today in connection with a fight with officers at PNC Park last year.

43-year-old Scott Ashley was charged with numerous offenses on April 9, 2011 after he fought with officers who were trying to get him to leave the seating area.  At a hearing today before Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge David Cashman, the District Attorneys Office agreed to reduce a count of terroristic threats to simple assault and withdraw one count each of disorderly conduct and public drunkeness.  Ashely then pleaded guilty to simple assault, resisting arrest and a summary county of harassment.

Following the plea, Ashley was placed on two years probation and ordered to attend anger management classes, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and submit to random drug screenings.  Additionally, Ashley was ordered to have no contact with PNC Park Security, Security Officer Travis Skibiel specifically and no contact at all with PNC Park.
